I only heard about the contest about three weeks before expiration and unfortunately that was not enough time to put it together.

Teams are bombarded with offers of all kinds, most of which are of little real value to a team. You must overcome this by finding a better way to communicate your offer and make it stand out above the mass buzz.

As for your offer of $1000 max prize for a video.... the time and effort required to produce, shoot, edit and publish anything other than an amateurish home video is simply not enough to interest most teams.

Perhaps $1000 for best still photograph would be more in line and produce more entries..

I kind of disagree that it is too much to ask to shoot, organize, edit, & publish a video for $1000 reward possible.
Most teams these days already shoot footage for their highlight reel at the end of the season. I think this is a fantastic incentive to earn a little money for the effort we're already investing.
It would also be cool to have a "Best of" photography contest, but maybe that would be better sponsored by another company (think motors, boats, etc).

The problem with the videos is that it takes a lot of effort by usually one or two people. Since the whole team gets the prize, there is very little motivation for someone to put in all that work. Why would I put in hours of work just so my team can get 3 free wetsuits (Eagle Bird of Prey Jump Suit 3/4 leg= $319.98)? And that's only if I win. If it was $1000 cash to the individual who sends in the video, I bet there would be more entries. If you insist on paying the prizes in gear, make the top prize 10 jump suits (probably around $1000 in cost to Eagle), which would be enough outfit a better portion of the team.
